In 1906 he married Annie Fitzsimons.
In 1911 their son Thomas Francis James Laverty was born.
He enlisted in Belfast.
In his will dated 05/10/1916 he left all his property and effects to wife apart from his watch which he left to his son.
His home address recorded in his will was
40 Eureka Street off Sandy Row, Belfast .
He was killed in action on 07/06/1917.
At the time of his death,his home address was recorded as being 206 Blythe Street Belfast.
