Born in Parkham Devon in 1890.

His parents were Roger Jennings(born in 1850) and Susan Found(born in 1855). They were married in 1877.

Thomas had 2 brothers; John M(born in 1881) and Frank(born in 1888).

He also had 3 sisters; Mary(born in 1885),

Dinah(born in 1892) and Annie(born in 1894).

In the 1891 census, the family were recorded as living in Halsbury cottage,Parkham,Bideford,Devon.

Roger was employed as a farm labourer. 

In the 1901 census, the family were recorded as having moved to live at Salterns Cottage, Monkleigh,Torrington, North Devon. Roger was employed as a horseman on a farm.

In the 1911 census, the family were still at the same address. Roger was still a horse man and Thomas was now a labourer on a farm.

He enlisted in Bideford and his date of disembarkation into France was on 01/10/1915.

He was killed in action on 01/07/1916.

He was awarded the 1914-1915 Star,

the 1914-1918 British War and Allied Victory medals.
