Born on 17/09/1892 in Aston,Birmingham.

He was baptised on 29/01/1893.

His parents were Charles Edward John Harwood

(1873-19/09/1942) and Annie Elizabeth Fisher(born in 1874). They were married on 28/05/1892. 

Albert had 3 brothers; Charles Thomas(1899-1955),

George Frederick(09/01/1902-1958) and John(born in 1909).

He also had 4 sisters; Rose Florence(13/11/1894-1979),

Elsie Elizabeth(born in 1898),Annie(19/09/1904-1990) and Gladys(born in 1907).

In the 1901 census,the family are recorded as living at

135 Cuckoo Road, Birmingham. Charles was employed as a carpenter.   

In the early part of 1911,Albert Married Daisy May Gregory(1891-1976) and in the 1911 census they can be found living with Alberts family at 161 Tame Road,Witton, Aston ,Birmingham. Charles was employed as a gas stoker for the city corporation gas works and Albert was a gas stove fitter.

He enlisted in Birmingham and his date of disembarkation into France was on 14/09/1915.

He was killed in action on 01/07/1916.

He was awarded the 1914 -1915 Star,

the 1914-1918 British War and Allied Victory Medals.

At the time of his death his address was 9  Addison Road, Nechells,Birmingham.
